About Me

I would like to welcome you and your child to an exciting school year! I will be working with the intermediate team to develop an integrated program based on Washington State’s Standards. The program is planned to foster all areas of your child’s development. Your child will participate in learning experiences that stimulate social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.

While this is my thirteenth year at Pearson Elementary, I taught for eleven years in Maryland. I have had many opportunities to grow as an educator. I have taught kindergarten through fourth grade children, as well as, college students. As a resource teacher, I worked with pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students. With each new experience, I learn more about myself as an instructor. I had the opportunity to engage in the National Board Certification process in 2001 and the National Board Certification renewal in 2010. This process has allowed me to adjust my teaching practices and routines to better match my students’ strengths and academic needs.

My plan is to provide you with curriculum updates and classroom information through our classroom website and/or email. Your child’s school planner and traveling folder will provide daily/weekly communication. As a parent, you are a critical member of your child’s education team. Your participation and communication is encouraged! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ktrudeau@nkschools.org or 360-396-3783 . I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year!
