I was raised in Mankato, Minnesota. I attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German. After graduating, I moved to California and earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Northridge.
My professional career began teaching a delightful group of preschool-age children with severe disabilities in Oxnard, California. Then, I moved to Washington in 1995. Since that time, I have taught fifth, sixth, first, and second grade. This will be my 13th year teaching second grade.
I have two delightful children Anya (18) and Aidan (16). So, on those nights when you feel like there’s just too much to do between extra-curricular activities, family time, homework and general down time, rest assured, I understand and am currently experiencing it all with my family too. We keep plugging away.
During my free time I enjoy being on my stand-up paddle board, water and snow skiing, reading, knitting, kayaking, running, biking, swimming, hiking and on rare occasions, simply relaxing.
I truly love my job and look forward to interacting with your family this year.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions, concerns or any information that will be helpful to me as I guide your child through second grade.
